We celebrated Wheels Asia's 13th birthday on 19th April at Hotel Re!'s newly reburbished Re!Wine bar, and we had a blast of a time! Check out the photos of our joyous celebration!
The Wheels Asia Driving Holiday which took place on 6th to 8th August 2011 was lots of fun! Other than the leisurely drive up to Cameron Highlands from the Second Link, participants also engaged in activities which included a tour around the BOH Tea plantation, Rose Valley and strawberry farm.
On the 4th & 5th June, 29 schools sent in a total of 120 students to compete in the inaugural BBC Knowledge School Challenge. The attractive prizes such as educational trips to London, Sabah as well as Prolink net books.
To enrich their experience, students competing in the BBC Knowledge School Challenge were also given the opportunity to visit the Singapore Science Centre’s “Planet Shark” exhibition and go onboard a flight aboard the Singapore Flyer.
At the end of the rigorous competition, the team from Nanyang Girls’ High School consisting of Too Jue Ying, Koh Bao Yi, Khoo Ying Yee and Zhang Tianjiao did their school proud by emerging victorious and won a challenge trophy as well as the coveted trip to London.
19th April 2011 - saw Wheels Asia celebrate its 12th Birthday in style at the ultra exclusive The Forbidden City by IndoChine along Clarke Quay.
The highlight of the birthday bash was of course the prize presentation of the Reader’s Choice Awards to lucky readers who voted for their winning car catergories and also the respective car companies that won the awards.
Besides the awards being given out, there was also a cake cutting ceremony that bared the Wheels Asia masthead sitting atop a marvelous piece of confectionary. The symbolic occasion was witnessed by Ms Cecilia Woo, General Manager of Regent Media, as well as Mr Benjamin Poon, Managing Editor and Mr Jackson Toh, Editor for Wheels Asia.
Rgent Media formally introduced the Singapore edition of BBC Good Food to esteemed industry partners over lunch at fine dinning outfit Novus Restaurant, Bar, Cafe & Courtyard.
Regent Media Publisher Cecilia Woo & Managing Editior Joyceline Tully offered guests the first peek into the monthly publication through succinct presentations. This was followed by a sumptuous three-course meal, paired with fine wines, specially prepared by Novus' Executive Chef Stephan Zoisl.
BBC Lonely Planet Magazine Asia Trade Launch Event
Held at one of Singapore’s most iconic hotels the Shangri-La, the launch of the Asian edition of Lonely Planet Magazine published by Regent Media, saw an unprecedented turnout of partners, the media, clients and friends. Guests were transported to a different dimension once they stepped into the beautifully landscaped ballroom. A rousing display of Japanese Taiko (big drum) performance not only signalled the start of the event but heralded the beginning of a new chapter in Asia for Lonely Planet and Regent Media as well.
Wheels Asia celebrate its 11th Year Birthday in style at the ultra exclusive Supper Club along North Bridge Road. Attended by who’s who in the motoring industry, guests were entertained and thrilled by an assortment of performances under lavish settings and equally scrumptious finger food.

Reader's Choice 'Car of the Year' Awards Presentation

at Mount Sophia, the WHEELS Asia Readers’ Choice Car
Of The Year Awards was to honour a few selected cars
that were voted by readers of WHEELS Asia as winners
in various categories.
Over 300 guests
joined in the revelry to celebrate the official launch
of escape!, Singapore’s first travel and lifestyle magazine
on 6 August 2008 at the Pool Grill, Singapore Marriott
Hotel.
In true holiday style, guests were presented with
a goody bag of souvenirs to remind them of the party.
In addition to a copy of the magazine, each bag comprised
escape! premiums such as a travel journal, a luggage
tag and passport holder set, a bag lock, along with
an Evian facial spray and drinking water travel-sized
set, a scarf from Winter Time, a hair service voucher
from Hair Lounge, as well as a Burberry Fragrances
overnight carrier (courtesy of Nuance-Watson Perfumes
& Cosmetics).
